2-Day First Aid At Work Requalification Course
Course Title: Level 3 First Aid at Work Requalification
This 2-day First Aid at Work course is designed for those who currently hold a First Aid at Work qualification and are due to expire.
Syllabus: A range of subjects are covered in:
- Legalities, responsibilities and reporting
- Heart attacks
- Dealing with an unresponsive casualty
- Eye injuries
- Fractures and spinal injuries
- Choking
- Control of bleeding
- Chest injuries
- Assessment of the situation
- Diabetes
- Shock (including Anaphylaxis)
- Asthma
- Head injuries
- Poisoning
- Sprains and strains
- Stroke
- Burns
- Epilepsy
- Resuscitation
- Bandaging
Course duration: 2 days (12 hours)
Number of learners: A maximum of 12 students are allowed and must be a minimum of 14 years of age and a certificate can be offered to all, subject to assessment. A student cannot assume a responsibility in the workplace until they reach the age of 16
Course assessment: Summative practical assessment is ongoing by the instructor each day, along with a written assessment on each day. A three year Level 3 Award in First Aid at will be issued to the learner, subject to successful assessment. No external assessors are required.
Certification: This qualification lasts for 3 years. To renew the qualification, learners will need to sit the FAW Re-Qual course. However, it is recommended that during the 3-year period, the learners attend annual refresher courses.
